Die Android-App Hilferuf ist frei von Werbung und sammelt keine persönlichen Nutzerdaten. Alle Daten werden lokal gespeichert. Die App tätigt Telefonanrufe nur zu dem von der Nutzerin/dem Nutzer eingestellten Zeitpunkt, nur auf die festgelegten Telefonnummern, die aus den Kontakten des Telefons ausgewählt werden können, und nur für die maximal eingestellte Zeitdauer. Die App verschickt SMS nur wenn der Nutzer/die Nutzerin einen SMS-Text festgelegt hat und nur im Anschluss an einen beendeten Telefonanruf auf die für die Telefonanrufe festgelegten Telefonnummern. Die genaue Standortinformation wird nur dann erfasst und automatisch an den SMS-Text angefügt, wenn dies ausdrücklich so festgelegt ist.

The app makes phone calls only at the time set by the user, only to the specified phone numbers that can be selected from the phone's contacts, and only for the maximum time set. The app sends SMS only if the user has specified an SMS text and only after a finished phone call to the phone numbers specified for phone calls. The exact location information is only captured and automatically appended to the SMS text if this is explicitly specified.
